Tehran (Web Desk): Iranian Parliament's National Security Committee head Ebrahim Azizi said on Thursday that the Strait of Hormuz will remain closed unless Tehran agrees to reopen it.

"The Strait of Hormuz will not be reopened without the will of the Islamic Republic of Iran,", he stressed. Azizi said Iran's enemies had retreated more than 500 miles (800km) from positions they once held in the region, accusing them of resorting to "malicious actions" after failing to reopen Hormuz.

He also said Iran's adversaries were fully aware of the severity of the strikes carried out against them, arguing that the attacks had demonstrated Tehran's ability to follow through on its threats.
