Beijing (Web Desk): Chinese President Xi Jinping on Wednesday declared that the revival of the Chinese nation is an unstoppable force as the country observed the 80th anniversary of its victory in the War of Resistance against Japanese Aggression and the broader World Anti-Fascist War.

Speaking at a large commemorative ceremony in Beijing, Xi — who also serves as General Secretary of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee and Chairman of the Central Military Commission — described the resistance war as both arduous and remarkable, highlighting it as the first complete success of the Chinese people against foreign invasion in modern history.

He underlined that this victory was secured under the national united front promoted by the CPC and noted that the Chinese people, through tremendous sacrifice, played a decisive role in safeguarding human civilization and defending global peace, making their contribution a vital part of the World Anti-Fascist War.

Xi emphasized that true security can only be maintained when nations recognize one another as equals, live peacefully side by side, and extend mutual support. Such an approach, he said, is necessary to eliminate the roots of conflict and ensure that tragedies of history do not repeat themselves.

Turning to present global dynamics, Xi warned that humanity again stands at a crossroads between peace and war, dialogue and confrontation, and cooperation or zero-sum rivalry.

He reaffirmed that China will remain steadfast on the right side of history and in support of human advancement, adhering to peaceful development while working hand in hand with the world to create a shared future for all humankind.

Meanwhile, the country held a large-scale military parade in Beijing on Wednesday to mark the 80th anniversary of its victory in World War II.

In Tian’anmen Square, towering installations modeled after the Great Wall were set up to reflect the nation’s bravery and unity in resisting foreign aggression.

Helicopters flew overhead in synchronized patterns, while troops marched across the square in tightly coordinated and powerful formations.

The parade also showcased the country’s modern military strength, with long lines of tanks, artillery units, and other advanced equipment moving steadily through the square.
