Istanbul (Web Desk): Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar reached Istanbul on Monday to attend a key meeting called by Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan to deliberate on the ongoing situation in Gaza.
Upon his arrival, the deputy premier was welcomed by Ambassador Ahmet Cemil Miroglu, Director General of Protocol at Türkiye’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, along with officials from the Pakistani Embassy.
During the Istanbul meeting, Pakistan is set to stress the urgency of implementing the ceasefire agreement in its entirety, ensuring Israel’s total withdrawal from the occupied Palestinian territories—particularly Gaza—and facilitating unrestricted humanitarian relief operations for the Palestinian population. The country will also push for the swift reconstruction of Gaza.
Pakistan will also restate its consistent stance on the creation of an independent, sovereign, and contiguous Palestinian state with Al-Quds Al-Sharif as its capital, based on pre-1967 borders and in alignment with relevant UN resolutions and the Arab Peace Initiative.
Pakistan has been, and will continue to be, committed to efforts to restore peace, justice, and dignity to the Palestinian people, as well as to ensure the realisation of their right to self-determination.
