Abu Dhabi  (Web Desk): The United Arab Emirates’ Ministry of Defense has confirmed that its advanced defense systems successfully intercepted a massive assault carried out by Iran, involving ballistic missiles, drones, and cruise missiles, preventing any direct hits on UAE territory.

In a press briefing, a Ministry spokesperson revealed that Iran launched a total of 174 ballistic missiles, of which 161 were destroyed mid-air by UAE defense forces. The remaining 13 missiles fell into the sea, causing no major casualties or infrastructure damage.

The spokesperson also reported that 689 drones were deployed as part of the assault, with 645 being neutralized before they could reach their targets. Additionally, 8 cruise missiles were destroyed mid-flight, ensuring they did not strike populated areas.

Despite the successful interception, falling debris caused some casualties, with 3 people losing their lives and 68 others injured. Minor damage was reported to certain residential and civilian properties, but no missile or drone directly struck the UAE land, according to officials.

The Ministry of Defense emphasized that the country’s sovereignty and national security will not be compromised under any circumstances. The spokesperson highlighted that UAE defense systems detected all threats in a timely manner and acted decisively to prevent them from causing harm.

“The UAE is fully prepared to protect its land and citizens, and we remain vigilant against any hostile actions,” the spokesperson stated.

This incident underscores the UAE’s commitment to maintaining robust defense capabilities and ensuring the safety of its population, even in the face of sophisticated attacks from regional adversaries.
