PM Shehbaz reaffirms commitment to stronger Pak-China strategic partnership

Islamabad (Web Desk): Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to further deepening its All-Weather Strategic Cooperative Partnership with China, emphasizing the importance of translating recent bilateral understandings into concrete actions.

The premier made these remarks during a meeting with Jiang Zaidong, who called on him in Islamabad on Wednesday.

During the discussion, Shehbaz Sharif underscored the need for the immediate implementation of key decisions reached during his recent visit to China.

He highlighted the importance of broadening collaboration under the framework of CPEC 2.0, particularly in sectors such as agriculture, information technology, industrial development, Special Economic Zones (SEZs), and the mining and minerals industry.

The prime minister also stressed the need for timely execution of agreements and memorandums of understanding signed between Pakistani and Chinese companies during the Business-to-Business Investment Conference held in Hangzhou.

The meeting also reviewed progress on the Karakoram Highway (KKH) realignment project, while both sides discussed enhancing cooperation in security, counterterrorism, and defence. Economic and financial collaboration, along with regional and global developments, also came under discussion.

Ambassador Jiang Zaidong reaffirmed China’s commitment to its longstanding friendship with Pakistan, assuring the prime minister that Beijing remains dedicated to strengthening bilateral ties and expanding cooperation across a wide range of sectors.
