Washington, United States (Web Desk): White House press secretary Sarah Sanders on Tuesday said during her briefing that Pakistan needs to do more to fight terrorism.
"We know that Pakistan can do more to fight terrorism and we want them to step up and do that," she said.
Responding to a question about why President Trump criticized Pakistan in his first tweet of 2018, Sarah Sanders said that the President outlined a new strategy for Afghanistan and South Asia in August last year. And, at that time, he laid out and said that Pakistan is not fulfilling its obligations. The President is simply following through on a commitment that he made. “We know that Pakistan can do more to fight terrorism, and we want them to step up and do that,” she added.
“Our goal is that we know that they can do more to stop terrorism and we want them to do that,” Sarah Sanders told reporters. “In terms of specific actions, I think you’ll see some more details come out on that in the next 24 to 48 hours.”
