Islamabad (Web Desk): On Tuesday, the Senate gave its approval to the Privatisation Commission (Amendment) Bill, 2025, following the recommendations laid out by the Standing Committee.

The bill, moved by Adviser to the Prime Minister on Privatisation Muhammad Ali, aims to introduce further amendments to the Privatisation Commission Ordinance of 2000. Lawmakers examined the bill thoroughly and passed it through a clause-by-clause review.

In another development, Minister for Law and Justice Azam Nazeer Tarar put forward a motion concerning the Whistleblower Protection and Vigilance Commission Bill, 2025.

The bill, which had already been passed by the Senate and sent to the National Assembly, remained unapproved by the latter for over ninety days since its submission.

Tarar proposed that the matter be addressed in a joint sitting of both Houses, and the motion was subsequently adopted by the House.
