Rawalpindi (Web Desk): Kazakhstan President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev arrived in Pakistan on Tuesday for a two-day official visit, marking his first state trip to the country.
President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif warmly received the honourable guest upon his arrival at the Noor Khan Airbase.
The Kazakh president, accompanied by a high-level delegation, comprising senior cabinet ministers and other high-ranking officials, arrived on his first State Visit to Pakistan from 03-04 February 2026.
Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Mohammad Ishaq Dar and federal ministers were also present to welcome the Kazakh president.
Children clad in traditional dresses and carrying national flags of both countries welcomed the Kazakh president.
The visiting leader is traveling with a prominent delegation that includes senior cabinet members and other top officials.
Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Mohammad Ishaq Dar, along with several federal ministers, was also at the airbase to receive him.
The reception featured a cultural flourish as well, with children dressed in traditional attire greeting the dignitary while waving the national flags of Pakistan and Kazakhstan.
President Tokayev’s engagements during his stay from February 3 to 4, 2026, include meetings with President Zardari and formal talks with Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif.
He is also scheduled to speak at the Pakistan–Kazakhstan Business Forum, where economic cooperation will be a central theme.
In a statement Foreign Office (FO), said that the visit comes at a significant moment for both countries, offering a chance to take a broad look at the current state of bilateral relations and to explore fresh opportunities for partnership.
Discussions are expected to cover trade expansion, improved logistics links, regional connectivity, and stronger people-to-people interactions, along with coordination on regional and global platforms.
The trip is widely viewed as a sign of growing closeness between Pakistan and Kazakhstan.
The two sides are keen to build on their shared historical and cultural connections and translate them into deeper economic collaboration and strategic understanding, while jointly supporting peace and development across the region.
