Beijing  (Web Desk): Recently, cars have been seen worldwide, including in Pakistan, featuring door handles that sit flush with the vehicle body rather than protruding outward. This modern design was first introduced by American company Tesla and is now common among the world’s best-selling new energy vehicles.

However, automakers in both the US and China have faced challenges adopting this design. Notably, China has recently banned the use of hidden door handles on electric vehicles (EVs), becoming the first country to prohibit this controversial feature.

The decision comes amid growing global scrutiny over the safety and standards of electric vehicles. Recently, two serious accidents involving Xiaomi’s electric vehicles in China raised concerns as passengers reportedly faced difficulties opening doors due to handle malfunctions.

The ban aims to ensure consumer safety and prioritize safety features in vehicle design to prevent accidents.
