Bannu (Web Desk): Terrorists launched a late-night attack on the Fathkhel police checkpoint in Bannu district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, resulting in the martyrdom of one police officer and injuries to three others. In the retaliatory operation, three terrorists were killed.
According to police, the assault took place under the cover of darkness, with terrorists using heavy weaponry.
The martyred officer has been identified as Constable Niaz, while the injured include personnel Munir, Sudad, and Mufti Mahmood.
Thanks to a timely and effective response by the police, three attackers were killed, while the remaining terrorists managed to escape and are currently being pursued.
DIG Bannu stated that the police stand firm on the frontline against terrorism and possess the capability to decisively counter every enemy attack. He emphasized that such cowardly acts by terrorists will not undermine the morale of the police force.
Meanwhile, Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi strongly condemned the attack and paid tribute to the martyred policeman. He remarked that Indian-backed terrorists carried out the assault under the cover of night, but the police bravely confronted them, thwarting their malicious designs and eliminating three terrorists.
