SIFC emphasises transparent privatisation of govt departments

Islamabad (Web Desk): Special Investment Facilitation Council (SIFC) is giving priority to the transparent privatisation of government departments as per the international standards.

In the first phase, PIA, DISCOs, First Women Bank and others are being privatized with the support of SIFC.

Apart from the financial deficit, the total liabilities of PIA have increased from Rs200 billion to Rs830 billion.

According to the data released by the government, the DISCOs have incurred a loss of over Rs376 billion.

By reducing this deficit from the national exchequer through transparent privatisation, the government can take more measures for public welfare.
