Zille Shah murder case: LHC extends Imran Khan's bail till June 6

Lahore (Web Desk): The Lahore High Court (LHC) on Friday extended Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PT) Chairman and former premier Imran Khan's bail in Zille Shah murder case till June 6.

According to details, LHC 's Justice Anwar-ul-Haq Pannu announced the decision.

Earlier, the LHC had granted Imran Khan bail in the case till June 2.

The court has also instructed him to cooperate with the ongoing investigation.

During today's hearing the brief hearing, the court asked the investigating officer (IO) if Imran had been made a part of the investigations into the murder to which the latter replied that the PTI chief had not yet joined the probe.

The court then ordered the IO to record Imran Khan's statement after the hearing.

“Ask him whatever questions you want to,” Justice Pannun said.

The government’s lawyer told the court that the statement could not be recorded in the presence of the petitioner’s lawyers.

Upon this, Justice Pannun asked the PTI will he answer the questions they ask him? 
Imran Khan replied he was absolutely ready to respond the questions by the investigation team.
Subsequently, the court extended Imran’s bail till June 6.

Following the proceedings, Imran Khan joined the probe and recorded his statement with the police.

Prior to appearing in the LHC, the former premier attended a hearing in an anti-terrorism court (ATC) , seeking bail in a case related to the violent incidents that occurred on May 9.

On May 19, the ATC had granted bail to the former prime minister in the three cases till June 2, subject to furnishing surety bonds of Rs100,000 each.

After today's hearing, ATC Judge Ijaz Ahmad Buttar allowed Imran khan to leave and said that the order will be issued later today.
