Islamabad (Web Desk): Pakistani and Qatari mediators held separate rounds of negotiations with representatives from the United States (US) and Iran in Doha on Wednesday, with both sides reporting encouraging developments on matters connected to the Islamabad Memorandum of Understanding (MoU).

“Qatari and Pakistani mediators concluded separate meetings with the US and Iranian negotiators in Doha today, with positive progress made on issues related to the aspects of the Islamabad MOU, building on the Lake Lucerne Summit,” the Foreign Office (FO) said.

The statement said that all participants agreed to carry forward the dialogue in the coming period. It added that the next round of talks would be arranged as soon as possible after the funeral processions of the former Iranian Supreme Leader.

The Government of Qatar also issued an identical statement following the separate meetings with the negotiators from the US and Iran.
