Tehran (Web Desk): Iran has issued a strong warning to the United States and Israel, cautioning them against any potential aggression, as the country prepares for the funeral prayers of its late Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei.
According to Iranian state media, senior military commander Ali Abdollahi of the Khatam al-Anbiya Central Headquarters said that Iran’s adversaries, particularly Washington and Tel Aviv, should avoid any “miscalculation” and fully understand the consequences of any hostile move against the Islamic Republic.
He stressed that Iran’s armed forces would respond firmly and decisively to any threat or act of aggression.
The statement comes at a sensitive moment, as national preparations are underway for the official funeral prayers of Ayatollah Khamenei, with security arrangements and public gatherings expected to draw large crowds across the country. The situation has added to already heightened regional tensions.
Meanwhile, uncertainty persists regarding the final execution of funeral arrangements. An Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) commander in Iran’s Qom province said that while detailed planning for the funeral procession has been completed, logistical and security challenges linked to the expected turnout mean that the event’s execution cannot be guaranteed exactly as planned.
IRGC commander Fathullah Jameeri stated that the funeral procession is expected to begin from Jamkaran Mosque and proceed towards the shrine of Hazrat Fatima.
However, he noted that despite having a finalized route, the large number of participants, crowd movement, and traffic conditions could significantly impact how the ceremony unfolds in practice.
He further explained that security forces are closely monitoring the situation and making arrangements to manage the expected influx of mourners, but emphasized that final operational conditions may change depending on ground realities.
The developments highlight the tense regional atmosphere as Iran prepares for one of the most significant state-level ceremonies in recent years, with both domestic security considerations and external geopolitical tensions shaping the situation.
