Islamabad (Web Desk): Foreign ministers from eight Muslim countries, including, Pakistan, Egypt, Indonesia, Jordan, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Turkey and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) have called on the global community to step up and fulfill its legal and moral obligations by urging Israel to lift restrictions on essential supplies entering Gaza.
They stressed the urgent need for tents, shelter materials, medical aid, clean water, fuel, and sanitation support to reach the Palestinian population without delay.
In a joint statement issued on Friday, the ministers demanded that humanitarian assistance be allowed to flow freely and completely into the Gaza Strip through the United Nations (UN) and its agencies.
They also called for the swift rehabilitation of hospitals and infrastructure, as well as the reopening of the Rafah Crossing in both directions, in line with the framework outlined in President Trump’s plan.
The foreign ministers highlighted the pressing need to initiate and expand early recovery efforts, including providing secure and dignified housing to shield residents from the severe winter conditions
They expressed deep concern over the worsening humanitarian situation in Gaza, worsened by heavy rains, storms, and unstable weather, combined with restricted access for aid and critical shortages of life-saving supplies.
They noted that the slow delivery of materials necessary for restoring basic services and temporary housing has left the population extremely vulnerable.
Nearly 1.9 million people, including displaced families living in inadequate shelters, face heightened risks as flooded camps, damaged tents, collapsing buildings, and exposure to freezing temperatures take their toll.
Malnutrition and poor living conditions have increased the threat of disease outbreaks, putting children, women, the elderly, and medically vulnerable individuals at serious risk.
The ministers lauded the relentless work of UN agencies, particularly UNRWA, and international humanitarian organizations, which have continued to provide assistance under extraordinarily difficult circumstances.
They insisted that Israel allow these organizations to operate in Gaza and the West Bank freely, without interference, noting that any obstruction is unacceptable.
Reaffirming their support for UN Security Council Resolution 2803 and President Trump’s Comprehensive Plan, the ministers underlined their commitment to sustaining the ceasefire, ending the conflict in Gaza, and ensuring a dignified life for Palestinians who have endured prolonged hardship.
They emphasized that these measures are crucial to creating a credible path toward Palestinian self-determination and eventual statehood.
