Sidney (Web Desk) Australian cricket star Usman Khawaja has announced his retirement from international cricket, bringing an end to a distinguished career that spanned nearly four decades in the sport.
According to reports, Khawaja revealed that he will bid farewell after the fifth and final Test of the ongoing Ashes series against England, which is set to commence this Sunday.
The upcoming match will mark his 88th and final appearance in international cricket.
Khawaja, a left-handed batting maestro, represented Australia in 87 Test matches, 40 One Day Internationals, and 9 T20 internationals.
Over the years, he carved out a reputation for his consistency and technical skill, making him a vital part of Australia’s batting line-up.
In recent seasons, however, Khawaja’s role as an opener had diminished, with Travis Head stepping into the position in his stead.
