Lahore (Web Desk): The 8th death anniversary of renowned Urdu writer Intizar Hussain is being observed today (Friday).
Born in India in 1925, he gained wide recognition through his novels, short stories, poetry and nonfiction.
Intizar Hussain studied Urdu literature at a university in Meerut, India, and soon afterwards moved to Lahore, with the intention of returning after meeting figures in the Progressive Writers' Movement.
He received several national and international awards including Sitara-i-Imtiaz from the government of Pakistan.
Intizar Hussain died in Lahore on February 2, 2016.
