North Waziristan assistant commissioner among 4 martyred in armed attack on vehicle in Bannu

Bannu (Web Desk): At least four people, including North Waziristan Assistant Commissioner Shah Waliullah, and two police personnel were martyred when unidentified gunmen ambushed the officer’s vehicle on Miranshah Road in Bannu district, according to official sources.

According to police, the attack occurred near the flour mills along Miranshah Road, where the armed assailants intercepted the official vehicle and opened fire.

Before escaping, the attackers reportedly took weapons from the wounded officers.

Bannu DIG Sajjad Khan confirmed the incident, noting that the assistant commissioner and two policemen had been martyred in the attack. He added that all injured victims were immediately shifted to the District Headquarters Hospital for medical care.

A large number of police personnel reached the scene, cordoned off the area and tightened security to prevent further disturbance.

As per the sources, investigators have begun gathering evidence from the site, while teams continue to work on tracking down those responsible.

Earlier, the Assistant Commissioner of Bannu had also stated that initial reports revealed that the Miranshah assistant commissioner’s vehicle had come under fire, leaving two police officers and a driver wounded.
