Washington (Web Desk): US President Donald Trump has presented a 20-point peace initiative designed to bring an end to the conflict in Gaza.

The plan calls for an immediate ceasefire, the rapid delivery of humanitarian supplies, and the destruction of all Hamas weaponry.

According to the proposed plan, fighting on all fronts would be suspended, with the release of all living hostages within 48 hours, while the remains of 24 deceased captives would also be returned.

In return, Israel would release 250 Palestinians serving life sentences, along with 1,700 detainees held since October 7, 2023, including women and children.

The document further outlines the establishment of a temporary interim administration in Gaza made up of Palestinians and international experts, alongside the deployment of a multinational security force.
Hamas’s offensive weapons would be eliminated, while those who surrender would be pardoned.

Members choosing to leave Gaza would be given safe passage. Trump stressed that humanitarian aid must be distributed fairly across Gaza and assured that no resident would face forced expulsion.

The plan also guarantees the right of return for those displaced, while making clear that Hamas will not have any future role in governing Gaza.

Additionally, the initiative proposes a program for reconstruction and development in Gaza, coupled with reforms within the Palestinian Authority to create a viable path toward Palestinian statehood.

The agreement provides for a phased withdrawal of Israeli forces from Gaza, with strict conditions preventing reoccupation or annexation. Israel has also committed not to launch further attacks on Qatar.

Trump said the ultimate purpose of the plan is to establish harmony and prosperity in the Middle East while revitalizing negotiations between Israel and the Palestinians.
