Privatisation minister addresses Pakistan-Russia Trade & Investment Forum in Moscow

Moscow (Web Desk): The first Pakistan-Russia Trade and Investment Forum is in progress in Moscow.
Federal Minister for Privatisation and Communications Abdul Aleem Khan is leading a delegation to attend the Business to Business Forum.

The delegation comprises more than 70 individuals of Pakistani businessmen from different sectors while more than 100 Russian companies are also participating in the Trade and Investment Forum.

Addressing the forum, the minister highlighted the attractive business environment offered by Pakistan.

He said Pakistan constitutes the fifth largest market in the world and it has the most liberal trade and investment regime in the region. He said foreign investment in Pakistan is fully protected. All our economic sectors are open for investment.

Aleem Khan said that he sees huge potential for increase of trade between two countries as more than 60 entrepreneurs from Pakistan have joined him at the forum.

“Pakistan and Russia have longstanding diplomatic and commercial relations,” the minister said, adding that Pakistan attaches great importance to its relations with Russia, emphasizing both sides have a great scope of joint ventures in different fields.

Addressing the forum, Russian Deputy Trade and Investment Minister Alexey Gruzdev welcomed the Pakistani delegates and said the interaction will have positive impact on bilateral relations between the two countries.

In his remarks on the occasion, Pakistan's Ambassador to Russia Muhammad Khalid Jamali expressed satisfaction that bilateral trade between Pakistan and Russia has crossed the one billion dollars threshold, saying this reflects the growing interest of both countries to enhance their economic and trade relations.

The Ambassador said Pakistan views Russia as an important and reliable trade partner.  He said Pakistan looks forward to working with Russia to enhance economic relations.
