Film, TV actor, director Syed Kamal remembered on 15th death anniversary

Islamabad (Web Desk/Web Desk): The 15th death anniversary of renowned film and television actor Syed Kamal was observed on Tuesday.

Born on April 27, 1937, in Meerut, British India, Syed Kamal was a popular film star during the 1960s and 1970s.

He acted in more than 80 films besides playing roles in TV dramas.

Syed Kamal’s memorable films include, Tauba, Thandi Sarak, Sawera, Apna Paraya, Road to Swat, Insan Aur Gadha, Behen Bhai, Jut Kuriyan Tau Darda, Aisa Bhi Hota Hai and Ashiana.

He also directed a number of films, including Insaan Aur Gadha, Shehnai, Yahan Say Wahan Tak, Doosri Maan, Meray Bacchay Meri Aankhein, Dard-i-Dil and Aaliya.

He won a Nigar Award in 1968 and was also given a Lifetime achievement award in 2000.

Syed Kamal died on October 1, 2009 in Karachi.
