Karachi (Web Desk): Veteran Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) leader and former Sindh chief minister Aftab Shaban Mirani passed away on Saturday after battling a long illness, his family confirmed.
Family sources said that his funeral prayers will be held tonight (Saturday) at 10 p.m. at Masjid Bait-ul-Islam, located in Defence Phase-IV, Karachi, after which he will be buried at Gizri Graveyard.
Mirani, a prominent and long-serving politician, had held the office of Sindh chief minister in 1990 and later served as the federal minister for defence in Benazir Bhutto’s cabinet from 1993 to 1996. Over the years, he was elected to the National Assembly multiple times as a PPP representative.
