Washington (Web Desk/Agencies): With over 62 million ballots already cast in the 2024 US election, early voting has reached unprecedented levels in several states, generating optimism for both political parties. However, analysts caution that the implications of this surge are complex and not easily interpreted.

Opinion polls indicate Democrat Kamala Harris and Republican Donald Trump running neck-and-neck including in seven critical battleground states that will likely influence the overall outcome.

Harris's campaign has actively promoted early voting, with support from key figures like her running mate Tim Walz, President Joe Biden, and former President Barack Obama, all of whom have already participated in the voting process.

Initially expressing doubts about the integrity of early voting, Trump has since adapted his message, urging his supporters to take advantage of early voting opportunities.

As of Thursday, around 62.7 million people had voted early, which accounts for nearly 40% of the total vote count recorded in the 2020 election.

In Georgia, more than 3.5 million voters have already cast their ballots, representing 45% of registered voters—an all-time high, according to Republican Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger.

He added that early voting participation could reach up to 70% in the state this election cycle.
Similar trends are being observed in other swing states.
