Rawalpindi (Web Desk): Security forces foiled two major infiltration attempts along the Pakistan-Afghanistan border in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, killing 13 militants during separate operations.
According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the operations were conducted on the basis of credible intelligence reports. In Mohmand district, security personnel detected the movement of a group attempting to cross the border and launched a swift operation, killing eight militants.
The ISPR said another infiltration attempt was thwarted in North Waziristan, where an intense exchange of fire resulted in the killing of five more militants.
In its statement, the military’s media wing urged the Afghan authorities to prevent their territory from being used for terrorist activities against Pakistan and to fulfill their responsibilities in this regard.
The statement further said that Pakistan’s security forces remain fully committed to defending the country’s borders, while clearance operations against militants in the area are continuing.
