Islamabad (Web Desk): The Prime Minister has appointed Hafiz Muhammad Tahir Mahmood Ashrafi as Coordinator for Islamic and Gulf Countries, assigning him a central role in advancing Pakistan’s engagement with the wider Muslim world.

The decision places him at the forefront of efforts to reinforce diplomatic ties with Islamic and Gulf nations.

In addition to his diplomatic responsibilities, Hafiz Tahir Ashrafi has also been entrusted with the responsibility of encouraging interfaith harmony and strengthening the culture of religious tolerance.

His dual mandate is being seen as a thoughtful move aimed at projecting Pakistan as a country committed to dialogue, inclusivity, and constructive international partnerships, particularly within the Islamic bloc.

With a long-standing presence in religious and diplomatic spheres, Hafiz Tahir Ashrafi has previously served as a special representative and has been associated with the Supreme Council of Islamic World Relations.

His career is marked by sustained work in promoting understanding and cooperation among followers of different faiths.

Owing to his close associations with influential leaders and institutions across the Islamic and Arab world, expectations are high that his appointment will further expand Pakistan’s diplomatic reach while also deepening cultural and religious cooperation with countries in the region.
