Islamabad  (Web Desk): The use of Virtual Private Networks (VPNs) without registration with the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) is now considered illegal in Pakistan.

According to Pasha IT Chairman, Sajjad Syed, unregistered VPNs are being used by terrorists, foreign agents, criminals, and extremist groups to remain anonymous online.

He further stated that these illegal VPNs could be used to plan attacks, spread rumors and propaganda, support unlawful activities, and pose significant security threats to Pakistan.

Sajjad Syed also warned that using unauthorized or unregistered VPNs compromises user data, leaving it vulnerable to hackers and online attackers.
