Islamabad (Web Desk): Section 144 has been imposed in Islamabad for two months, banning gatherings of five or more individuals.

According to a notification issued by the District Magistrate of Islamabad, this order will be immediately enforced and will remain in effect until January 18, 2026.

Section 144 of the Criminal Procedure Code grants district authorities the power to impose a ban on gatherings of four or more people in a specified area.

The notification states that certain individuals or groups intended to hold illegal gatherings within Islamabad's jurisdiction, though it did not specify the nature of these gatherings.

As per the order, all districts of Islamabad, including the Red Zone, are prohibited from holding any gatherings, processions, rallies, or protests involving five or more people. The notification emphasizes that this step is essential for maintaining public order, peace, and the rule of law.
