Lahore (Web Desk): Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi said that Islamabad demands Kabul to stop use of Afghan land against Pakistan.
Addressing a news conference in Lahore, the interior minister said the Pakistan will proceed with the removal of undocumented Afghan nationals without exception, saying that Afghans living illegally in the country can no longer be regarded as guests.
He urged them to return to their homeland respectfully, warning that those who refuse will be deported, and anyone attempting an unlawful return to Pakistan afterward will face arrest and full legal consequences.
Naqvi said that the individuals involved in the recent assaults on FC personnel and the Islamabad district courts were reportedly Afghan citizens.
He maintained that Afghan-linked groups have been tied to a large number of terrorist incidents inside Pakistan, leaving the government with no choice but to move ahead with the repatriation plan.
The interior minister said that Afghan camps in KP are already being dismantled, and federal directives will be enforced firmly because, in his words, the country “cannot afford more explosions.”
He added that the authorities possess solid evidence identifying the actors behind ongoing terror activities and called on the Afghan Taliban administration to rein in militant elements operating from their territory.
The minister also voiced concern over the spread of misinformation online, arguing that the majority of social media content consists of false reports. He warned that those responsible for circulating fabricated stories will be dealt with strictly.
Naqvi noted that the national media functions under an established regulatory structure where PEMRA acts against inaccurate broadcasts, and said that similar mechanisms will soon be applied to social media platforms.
Stressing that no one will be allowed to demean others and that national security remains non-negotiable, the interior minister cautioned overseas individuals that they will be brought back to face accountability for their remarks.
He reiterated that a thorough campaign is being initiated against groups and individuals who fuel confusion or distribute fake news among the public.
