Islamabad (Web Desk): Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari announced on Saturday that he had received a reply from the banned Joint Awami Action Committee (JAAC) regarding his proposal to form a Truth and Reconciliation Commission to help address the ongoing situation in Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK).

Reacting to the response, Bilawal welcomed the committee’s willingness to consider the proposed commission, describing it as a potential institutional path towards resolving the current crisis.

He also pointed out that the proposal had already secured the support of the Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) Legislative Assembly.

In a post shared on X, the PPP chief said “The loss of every precious life is a national tragedy. At this moment, my foremost priority is to help bring an end to the ongoing crisis, provide immediate relief to the people, and restore normal life in Azad Jammu and Kashmir as soon as possible.”

Bilawal further stated that he would now hold consultations with Azad Jammu and Kashmir Prime Minister Faisal Mumtaz Rathore.

The PPP chief added that the AJK premier would also engage the federal government and other key stakeholders to gather their initial views and determine whether all parties could reach a consensus on moving ahead with a mutually acceptable proposal for the commission.
