Lahore (Web Desk): Hyderabad Kingsmen won the toss and chose to bat first against Multan Sultans in the 8th match of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) season 11, at Lahore’s Gaddafi Stadium on Wednesday.

The fixture carries added interest as it is the first-ever contest between the two teams, with the Kingsmen featuring in the league for the very first time.

Both sides head into the game with completely different momentum. Multan Sultans, who lifted the trophy in 2021, began their campaign strongly by securing a comfortable five-wicket win over Islamabad United.

Meanwhile, the newly introduced Kingsmen are still searching for their first victory after losing their opening two matches.

Their PSL journey started with a heavy 69-run defeat at the hands of reigning champions Lahore Qalandars, and their struggles continued in the next game where they were beaten by 40 runs by last season’s runners-up Quetta Gladiators.

Teams

Multan Sultans: Sahibzada Farhan, Steve Smith, Ashton Turner (capt), Shan Masood, Josh Philippe (wk), Mohammad Nawaz, Arafat Minhas, Peter Siddle, Mohammad Wasim Jr, Shahzad Gul, and Momin Qamar.

Hyderabad Kingsmen: Saim Ayub, Maaz Sadaqat, Marnus Labuschagne (capt), Usman Khan (wk), Syed Saad Ali, Irfan Khan, Hassan Khan, Sharjeel Khan, Maheesh Theekshana, Riley Meredith, and Mohammad Ali.
